What is an Area Director? Where is AREA D? Keep scrolling for info and the CSEA map below.
I’m running for Area D Director to put Members First. As a CSEA leader at the Chapter, Region, and State levels, I’ve turned contract language into real protections and wins for Classified staff like us. I also serve as a Governing Board Member for Visalia USD, giving me hands-on experience with a $500 million budget, policy, and accountability; experience I use to put Members First. I also serve as Co-Chair of the TBUESD School Board Recall Committee.
My approach is simple: “I learn what I need to know to do what needs to be done.” I listen, act, and follow through. As Area D Director, I will improve communication by amplifying Chapter voices from all parts of Area D and advocating for more highly trained Labor Relations Representatives. I’ve consistently put the Membership First in my own decisions and will do the same across “D” Best Area.

In the simplest of terms, the Area D Director is “your voice at the state level.” The Area Director represents the needs and concerns of Chapters and Members across Area D to the CSEA Association and Board, helps connect local issues to statewide decisions, and supports the work happening throughout the region. The role also includes organizing Area-wide activities each year, which includes Classified School Employee Week events and helping develop member leaders through Area leadership institutes. The Area D Director may attend Regional Presidents Meetings (RPMs) and other CSEA meetings or events as invited or assigned, and they can delegate duties to the Alternate Area Director to help carry the workload.
Finally, while the Area D Director can listen, advocate, and bring issues forward to the full Board of Directors, individually they do not speak for the Board as a whole and cannot guarantee outcomes or make promises on the Board’s behalf, because only the full Board can make those decisions together.

Here’s a glimpse of the work I do as a Governing Board Member who is also Classified staff.
During the March 10th, 2026 Visalia USD Board Meeting, I stood in solidarity against layoffs of Classified and Certificated staff.
I'm an Area D native who is passionate about Public Education.
During the Dec. 9th, 2025 Visalia USD Board Meeting, I brought Transparency to the public that Classified staff were being excluded from a fair wage study.
During the Dec. 9th, 2025 Visalia USD Board Meeting, I remind the public that in Education, people are our greatest asset.
